TINA O. MILLER

PARTNER

Tina O. Miller is a trial lawyer with Comber Miller LLC.  She has experience litigating a broad range of complex criminal and civil matters. Her trial experience includes both civil and criminal high-stakes cases involving public corruption, fraud, civil rights violations, arson, arms trafficking, carjacking, Title IX, contract disputes, constitutional torts, narcotics trafficking, homicide and sex offenses. Ms. Miller’s national practice includes the representation of professional and amateur athletes, as well as sports agents, in litigation, arbitration, crisis management, and disciplinary investigations. She has led internal investigations for corporations, universities, government agencies, nonprofits, and religious organizations.

She is a former Deputy United States Attorney and Chief of the Criminal Division at the United States Attorney’s Office in Pittsburgh where she led the investigation and prosecution of numerous high-profile cases, served as a crisis coordinator, and supervised over seventy employees in three offices.  Throughout her career as both a federal prosecutor and a private attorney, she has been an advocate for victims of crime. She represents victims in criminal, civil and Title IX educational matters.

Leveraging her courtroom expertise, Ms. Miller has built an alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practice and currently serves as President of CM Mediation Group. As a certified special master, mediator, and arbitrator, she has been appointed by federal courts in complex litigation, including as Special Master for Discovery and E-Discovery.  

She has received numerous awards and recognitions, including two Special Achievement awards from the Department of Justice for her work in prosecuting crimes against children. She has spoken and written extensively in the areas of electronic discovery and criminal law and is a former co-chair of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Friends of E-Discovery group.

Ms. Miller currently serves on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court’s Criminal Procedural Rules Committee. She is a member of the prestigious Academy of Trial Lawyers of Allegheny County, a select, invitation-only group of top lawyers in the Pittsburgh area, as well as a Fellow with the  Litigation Counsel of America, national trial lawyer honor society.  After graduating law school in 1993, Ms. Miller began her legal career clerking for the Honorable Donetta W. Ambrose on both the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and the Court of Common Pleas of Westmoreland County.
