Partner Tina O. Miller is a certified mediator, arbitrator and special master.
With extensive experience in trials, litigation, arbitration, mediation and management, Ms. Miller has been trained in both the evaluative and the facilitative mediation style.
She has been appointed by judges in the Western District of Pennsylvania to serve as a mediator and as a Special Master to resolve both e-discovery and discovery disputes in complex civil cases, including multi-district patent litigation.
Her work as both an arbitrator and mediator has included qui tam cases, commercial litigation, employer/employee workplace disputes, personal injury, intellectual property and insurance coverage litigation.
During her tenure as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office, Ms. Miller litigated civil cases on behalf of the government, including medical malpractice, employment discrimination, veterans’ rights, torts and civil rights litigation.
She was appointed as an Adjunct Settlement Judge in the Western District of Pennsylvania in recognition of her civil litigative skills.
As the former Chief of the Civil Division of the United States Attorney’s Office, Partner Michael A. Comber handled over 100 mediations, to include serving as the lead negotiator for the federal government and a consortium of state attorneys general in a landmark education fraud matter resulting in a settlement of nearly $200,000,000.
He also co-chaired a working group to develop alternative dispute resolution policies and procedures for the United States Department of Justice.
