Wes is an experienced and versatile litigator who represents individuals and businesses in white collar defense, government regulatory enforcement, and complex civil litigation.  He has successfully defended clients in matters involving allegations of fraud, financial crimes, healthcare crimes, and regulatory violations, in addition to advising clients through grand jury investigations, false claims act matters, civil and administrative litigation, and internal investigations.

Wes has tried dozens of cases in federal and state courts, arbitral forums, and administrative hearings. He was formerly a federal prosecutor in the Central District of California (Los Angeles), where he investigated and prosecuted federal offenses including fraud, bribery, public corruption, civil rights, narcotics, and firearms. He also served as an officer and attorney in the U.S. Army JAG Corps, where he was a trial attorney and advisor to command units and soldiers in Korea, Germany, the United States, and Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom.

From a decade in government service, Wes developed a deep understanding of government investigations and federal prosecutions and enforcement.  He has used that experience to defend clients in matters brought by nearly every federal and state agency, including the DOJ, FBI, IRS, EPA, Departments of Health and Human Services, DEA, Secret Service, and OAG.  He has won full acquittals at trial; secured dismissals and non-prosecution decisions before trial; navigated investigations to avoid charges; overturned convictions on appeal; and conducted internal investigations and cooperative disclosures to preempt and protect clients against enforcement actions.  Wes’s breadth of experience and multiple bar admissions enable him to serve clients across many jurisdictions and to collaborate effectively as local counsel in Pennsylvania.

Wes is a member of the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the Western District of Pennsylvania, the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.  He lives in Westmoreland County with his wife and three daughters.
