Devin focuses his practice on complex legal issues in state and federal appellate courts, white collar criminal litigation, internal corporate investigations, and general litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, Devin practiced at a large international law firm where he focused on appellate litigation, including advising clients on all aspects of the appellate process, crafting appellate strategy, drafting briefs, and presenting oral argument. His appellate practice spanned state and federal appellate courts around the country, including numerous federal circuit courts of appeals and the United States Supreme Court. Devin also handled complex civil motions in state and federal trial courts, where he frequently was called upon to provide strategic advice and drafting assistance in all manner of critical dispositive motions. Devin has experience in criminal and civil matters, including ERISA, intellectual property, insurance recovery, products liability, government investigations, the False Claims Act, civil rights litigation, and other commercial disputes.
Before entering private practice, Devin served as a law clerk for Judge Joy Flowers Conti in the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and for Judge D. Michael Fisher on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Devin is an active member of the Allegheny County Bar Association, where he twice chaired the Third Circuit Review CLE program, has been a member of the Federal Court Section Council since 2015, and served as a member of the Section’s Executive Board. He is currently the President of the Section for the 2022-2023 term. Devin also served as a term member of the Third Circuit Lawyers’ Advisory Committee from 2019-2022.
Devin has degrees from Syracuse University and the Duquesne University School of Law, and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.
